Social, Mobile, Data & Crowd (SMDC) Laboratory

Founded in 2008 at the Department of Mathematical, Computer, and Physical Sciences of the University of Udine, the SMDC Lab explores how people and intelligent systems interact through data, language, and crowds.

Our research covers key areas such as Crowdsourcing, Natural Language Processing, and the evaluation of Information Retrieval systems. More recently, we've extended our focus to Large Language Models, studying their behavior, applications, and how to evaluate them effectively.
